The first reported sighting of the Min Min Lights was in the early 1890's, over the grave at the rear of the Min Min Hotel. Ruins can be found on the Winton road approximately 110 kilometres east of Boulia and then to the right approximately half a kilometre from the main road. The hotel was destroyed in 1912. The grave at the rear of the site is believed to be that of a servant girl who worked at the hotel for a time. The grave of Mrs Lilley who was the original hotel proprietor can also be found near the banks of the Min Min Creek.
