Council advises all residents and visitors in Boulia to boil tap water used for drinking following a recent communications network outage that affected technical operations within our water treatment plant.The boil water alert is precautionary and will stay in effect until council is satisfied that levels are within the required range with consistent testing. The Donohue Highway (the Outback Way 'Australia's Longest Shortcut') is being sealed at a progressively increasing rate thanks to continued funding from Federal, State and our Local Government. May 2024 has seen another stretch of the Donohue Highway sealed - a total of five sections of re-sealing totalling a length of 24.1km. There is currently only 70.6km left to seal.
