Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Corporate Plan and why is it needed?

Under the Local Government Act 2009 (Act) and Local Government Regulation 2012, all Councils must prepare and adopt a five-year Corporate Plan which sets the strategic direction for the organisation and community. While it is a legal requirement under the Act, as a Council, receiving your input as a community member is a crucial component in the development of the document. We need your feedback so we can ensure that community needs and expectations for Boulia now and into the future are captured.

How can I have my say?

You can have your say by completing the community survey or by emailing wtfboulia@boulia.qld.gov.au with your ideas or suggestions.

How can I access a copy of the current Corporate Plan?

The current Corporate Plan originally covered the 2019-2024 period, however Council resolved to extend the validity of this plan to 30th June 2026 to enable a thorough consultation period to occur.  A copy of the document can be viewed on the Council website under Council Documents/Corporate Plan

When will the new Corporate Plan be implemented?

Council will collate all the community input received and this will then be taken to the Executive Team and Councillors for consultation, work shopping and development of a draft Corporate Plan. Once adopted by Council the new Corporate Plan will come into effect from the 1st July 2026.
