PUBLIC NOTICE

Council advises all residents and visitors at Boulia township that tap water used for drinking is safe to consume.

This notice applies to all residents and visitors to the Boulia township area from Friday 13th March 2026.

There is no longer a public health concern over the quality of drinking water, and it is now considered safe for all typical uses including drinking, preparing food and beverages, personal washing, dishwashing, laundry purposes and flushing toilets.

Council has worked closely in consultation with Queensland Health to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Council will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Residents should flush out affected water from the pipes in their homes. Residents are asked to share this notice with neighbours and visitors.
